A XolapDimension provides a way to "slice" data in a DimensionGrid or DimensionTable. A dimension contains one or more levels, enabling the creation of a general-to-specific hierarchy of data. For example, a single-level dimension could be based on a data field indicating the marital status of a customer. A multi-level dimension could reflect the location of a customer, with levels for each of country, state, city, and street address.

Dimensions automatically have an "All" category at the highest level. Defining cube levels enables drilling down into the dimension.
