Element Details: Input+Date

Available in: Logi Info Source code name: InputDate

Allows entry of a date value. A pop-up calendar is available to help the user select a date. Dates can be in a wide variety of formats. After the page is submitted, the value can be accessed in the next report with an @Request token.

Use the Format attribute to set how dates will be displayed. The named formats, such as "General Date" and "Short Date" will display dates according to the browser's language setting.

To get the dates back to the server in a consistant format, set the InputDateReformat attribute to a specific format, usually yyyy-MM-dd.

Set the format to "None" to prevent display of the caption row.
When the CalendarLinkType is Text, this value should be the text that you want to display in the link. Keep this value blank to display a standard calendar icon, or set it to your own image by providing the image's filename.
The style sheet class that will be applied to the input element's calendar link.
Input Dates can have a link that displays a pop-up calendar. The link can be text or an image. Enter None if you do not want a pop-up calendar.
The Caption attribute identifies the text to be displayed. For Image elements, Caption specifies the image filename.
For Input elements, this is style sheet class that will be applied to the input element's caption. Leave this value blank unless you want the Caption to have a different class than the input element. For tables, Caption Class sets the class for the table's caption, which appears as a header above the table.
ChangeFlagElementID helps Process Tasks know when an input value has been changed by the user. For example, a Process may only UPDATE rows when the user actually changed something, and otherwise skip the UPDATE. Set ChangeFlagElementID to the ID of an InputHidden element. Then, if the user changes this input element, the hidden element's value will become "True". You can test for this value in a Procedure.If. When using ChangeFlagElementID with an Input element that's under a DataTable, be sure to put the InputHidden element under a DataTableColumn. Process input from individual rows under a Procedure.RunDataTableRows. ChangeFlagElementID relies on the Javascript "onchange" event, so you will not be able to use your own "onchange" EventHandler with ChangeFlagElementID.
Sets the Cascading Style Sheet class used by the element. When set, this class will also be used by all child elements that don't have their own class. The class should be defined in the report's style sheet file.
The default value displayed or selected when the report page is initially displayed. For the InputSelectList element, to show multiple selected values, this attribute can be over-ridden by adding a DefaultValues element with a DataLayer below that.
Default value for the end date in a range.
The caption for the end date Textbox.
ID of the second date in the selected range. When the page is submitted, the value can be accessed with a @Request token. For example: @Request.myEndDate~
Allows a string to be formatted in various ways, especially for numeric and date values. Specifies formatting characteristics for the data. This attribute has been borrowed from the Microsoft Visual Basic Format function. For more information: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/59bz1f0h(VS.71).aspx For dates, the non-specific formats, such as "General Date", "Short Time", etc., are converted according to the browser's international setttings. Also, for very large reports, the non-specific formats perform better. There are also some special formats. "<" and ">" change strings to lower and upper case. "Expanded Spaces" preserves space characters that would otherwise be collapsed by the web browser. "HTML" preserves HTML tags so that they are not encoded - they are embedded rather than shown. "Preserve Line Feeds" preserves line feed and cariage return characters so that the following characters appear on a new line. "mp" formats numbers with the "metric prefix". To format 1,234,567 as "$1.23M", use Format "$#.00mp". Supported metric prefixes are from 1000^6 to 1000^-6 For more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_prefix "mpsx" formats the value with x number of significant figures in addition to the metric prefix. So a value of 123456, with format set to mps3 will return 123k. "qq" returns the number of the quarter when the value being formatted represents a date. To return the year and quarter together like "2010 Q1", set the format to "yyyy Qqq". "fyy" and "fyyyy" return the fiscal year. "fqq" returns the fiscal quarter. The fiscal year start date may be configured in the settings' Globalization element. "ww" returns the number of the week. The first day of the week may be configured in the settings' Globalization element.
(Required) The ID attribute is a pervasive attribute that uniquely identifies an element within a definition file. The ID needs to be a unique value within the definition.
Reformats the date when the InputDate is returned and referenced as an @Request token. This attribute over-rides the Settings' Globalization element which formats dates based on the Server Culture. For details on the various date formats, visit: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vblr7/html/vafmtuserdefineddateformats.asp
The width of the input box.
Number of years to be listed in the calendar's year dropdown.
The placeholder attribute specifies a short hint or caption that describes the expected value of an input element. In some cases it may be used in place of a caption.
Saves the information entered by the user in a cookie. You can use the cookie to set the default value so that previously entered data is retrieved. Hint: Set the Default Value attribute to something like "@Cookie.myInputId~". SaveInCookie does not work under DataTables and other data-repeating elements.
LocalStorage stores data in the browser. The information is maintained between sessions. SaveInLocalStorage uses the browser's localStorage to preserve input values so they re-appear when a page is redisplayed. It is a way of keeping default values. Set SaveInLocalStorage="True" to preserve and restore input values. SaveInLocalStorage is over-ridden by DefaultValue attributes. Do not use SaveInLocalStorage and DefaultValue attributes together. SaveInLocalStorage does not work under DataTables and other data-repeating elements. LocalStorage requires browser support. IE7 does not support LocalStorage.
When entered, access to this element can be controlled with Logi security. Supply the ID of a right defined in the applications settings’ Security element. Only users that have a right in the SecurityRightID will be able to see the element. Note that when rights come from RightFromRole elements under Security/UserRights, and this element's SecurityRightID does NOT match any of the Right IDs defined in the Settings definition, then the user DOES have access. But when Right IDs are instead derived from RightsFromDataLayer or RightsFromRoles elements, and the user DOES NOT have a matching Right, then the user DOES NOT have access. You can enter multiple right IDs, separated by commas. In this case, the user sees the element if he has any one of the Rights.
Show Date Range allows two dates to be selected, representing starting and ending dates. For the Input Date element, if Show Date Range="True", two input boxes for dates are displayed. If the popup calendar feature is used, the first date selected becomes the value for the starting date; the second date selected sets the value for the ending date. The calendar displays the selected range in a highlighted color. For the Date Picker element, if Show Date Range="True", no input boxes are displayed, but date selection on the popup calendar operates in the same manner.
Text that appears when the user hovers the pointer over the image or text.
